Raquel Almazan One-Woman Show at Dixon Place
Based on five years of real life interviews with adult stars, Raquel Almazan returns to Dixon Place October 14th for a one-night-only performance of her solo show. A dark comedy developed in collaboration with Penny Arcade, this electric one hour journey melds Japanese Butoh dance and narrative performance through a multimedia experience to explore how our virtual world interacts with our "real world."
Created by Raquel Almazan in collaboration with culture icon Penny Arcade and Butoh artist Vangeline, "Porning the Planet: The De-Sensitization of a Nation" was associate produced by Halle Morse.
In this dark comedy based on the life of real adult stars, Porn Star Sensora joins Butoh dance with narrative performance and audience as pornographer.
A panel discussion of adult entertainment experts followed the one-night-only performance.
